The police in Lagos State, Nigeria, have arrested an armed robbery suspect coming back from operation.
The suspect, Saliu Lamidi, was arrested at Pen Cinema roundabout, Agege with a bag containing one double barrel shotgun, one dummy pistol and 19 live catridges and assorted charms.
The suspect was promptly arrested and taken to the Pen Cinema Police Station where he made confessional statement.
Similarly, a team of anti-robbery policemen from Alade Police Station, Somolu, on a routine patrol along Anifowoshe Street, Somolu engaged suspected armed robbers in gunfire that lasted for minutes. One of the suspects, Ganiyu Jimoh, was arrested with one locally made pistol while others escaped.
The suspect has made useful statement to the police, it was learnt.
Speaking with P.M.NEWS, Lagos State Police Command Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Mr. Frank Mba, confirmed the stories and advised members of the public to give useful information to the police and assist them to detect crime before they are committed.
