Residents of Agbado/Oke-Aro, in the outskirts of Lagos, have sent a save our soul message to Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola of Lagos State on the bad state of roads in the area.
The roads which link the area to Iju road have been in bad state for a long time. The potholes on the roads often lead to heavy traffic, making it impossible for commutters to get to their destinations.
Shola Ajibola, a resident complained bitterly about the state of the roads, saying the government has neglected the area. ”We are appealing to the governor of the state to come to our aid and repair the roads,†he pleaded.
Another resident, Kola Adeagbo, disclosed that the bad state of the roads has caused havoc to both commercial and private vehicle owners, as they have been forced to change tyres and other parts of their cars a number of times.
Ifeanyi Uzoh, a commercial bus driver, revealed that the bad roads had claimed many lives of residents and implored the governor to act fast.
A cleric of the Light of God Ministry, R. B. Ayinde also lamented the poor state of the roads and appealed to the administration to do something about them.
”The government should repair these roads so that we too can benefit from the dividends of democracy as citizens,” he stated.
