In his bid to stem the activities of criminals, thugs and hooligans before and after the yuletide in Orile area of Coker-Aguda LCDA, Lagos, the new Divisional Police Officer, DPO, of Orile Police Division, has intensified raids on black spots in Orile.
In one of the raids, six suspects, including a notorious thug called Bullets, terrorising residents of Moshalasi and Boundary areas, were arrested.
Areas so far raided, according to a police source included Doyin, Moshalashi, Boundary area, Orile, Ademola Street and its environs.
Items recovered from the suspects included Indian hemp, blades and knives which they used in attacking innocent residents, handsets and bags.
According to Tunde Adeniran, a resident of Moshalasi, ”we thought Bullet was a spirit as no policeman has been able to arrest him. We are very happy with his arrest because he has been harassing us for long.”
All the suspects, according to a police source, have been transferred to Alausa, Ikeja office of the Lagos State Task Force on Environmental Sanitation and Special Offences Unit for arraignment in court.
When P.M.NEW visited the Orile Police Division to see the new DPO for comment, he was said to have gone to the Lagos State Command for a meeting, but a police source confirmed the raids.
