David Mark, Dakingari, Dozie Bag Honourary Doctorate Degrees

Senate President, Senator David Mark, Governor of Kebbi State, Alhaji Usman Dakingari and the Chairman of MTN, Dr. Pascal Dozie,would be conferred with honorary doctorate degrees this weekend by the University of Agriculture, Makurdi, Benue State, Nigeria, during the institution’s annual convocation.

This was disclosed to newsmen in Makurdi, by the Vice Chancellor , Prof Daniel Uza , while briefing newsmen on activities to mark the 16TH and 17th convocation ceremonies of the tertiary institution slated for Saturday.

The Vice Chancellor also said the convocation is for all graduates of the university who passed out in the 2007/2008 and 2008/2009 academic sessions, adding that 1,767 graduands would participate in the ceremony. Out of these are 28 Ph.D, 89 postgraduate Diploma and 1,486 B.Sc graduates out of which seven came out with first class.

Hon Dimeji Bankole, Speaker, House of Representatives flagged the event yesterday when he delivered the convocation lecture titled “Good Governance – The Bedrock of Sustainable National Development”.

The Vice Chancellor noted that the convocation activities would commence with the commissioning of completed projects such as the Engr. Kupolokun Lecture Theatre for College of Engineering and a block of three classrooms and offices for College of Engineering.

Other projects for commissioning include a block of offices and mini-library for College of Science, a block of one classroom, laboratory and offices for College of Forestry and Fisheries in addition to a fleet of new vehicles for staff and buses for students among others.
