Banyana Banyana coach Augustine Makalakalane will receive match analysis feedback from eight national team coaches, who were at the Sinaba Stadium to take notes during the Sasol-powered Banyana Banyana’s 2-1 win over Tanzania at the CAF African Women Championship, AWC on Sunday.
National coaches including under 23 coach Shakes Mashaba and under 17 girls coach Solly Luvhengo, will report their information to Makalakalane, ahead of Banyana Banyana’s match against Africa’s top ranked team, Nigeria at the same venue on Thursday.
“The fact the SA national coaches are working together in the interest of Banyana Banyana, is great news and I hope that this will continue in the interest of all national teams,†said Malakalane.
Makalakalane admitted that their next game against Nigeria will be tough, saying that the encounter will determine which country will top the table at the end of group matches.
He also boasted that his players are in confident mood to take the five time African Champions holder to the cleaners.
Following in the footsteps of Winnie Madikizela-Mandela who provided Banyana Banyana players with words of inspiration at the jersey hand-over ceremony on the eve of the match against Tanzania, world 800 metres champion Caster Semenya, will pass on a message of motivation to the squad at the jersey hand-over meeting tomorrow.
Meanwhile, chief coach of Super Falcons Eucharia Uche remains optimistic that no team can stop them from winning the title.
She said they will not only qualify from the group stage but win the title they have lost two years ago in the Equatorial Guinea.
“We are in South Africa to reclaim the title we lost two years ago.â€
