As the Silverbird Group celebrates its 30th anniversary on Saturday, 6 November, 2010, the management has concluded plan to invite Party on the Moon, the international band that performed at President Obama’s inauguration in the United States of America, to be part of the celebration.
Speaking on behalf of the group, Skid Ikemefuna, Chairman Organising Committee, Silverbird at 30, said the group and top Nigerian artistes including Ras Kimono, D’Banj, 2face, King Sunny Ade, M.I and Sharp Band, among others, will entertain guests at the event which will take place at New Convention Centre, Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.
Ikemefuna said that the night will be an experience to remember as it will chronicle hit songs in the last 30 years in Nigeria and in the international scene.
He also said there will be tributes to departed artistes in the last 30 years including Michael Jackson, James Brown, and Luther Vandros, among others.
Nigeria’s President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan (GCFR), according to him, will be the special guest of honour, while the Lagos State Governor, Babatunde Raji Fashola, will be the host as well as top government functionaries, business and media personalities, who have been invited to the special occasion.
