The president, Rotary Club of Victoria Island East, Lagos, Rotn. Lyna Orikaku, has announced the sponsorship of supply of equipment and its maintenance at the Iru Primary Health Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos State, southwest Nigeria, for the next three years by the club.
This is part of the club’s community development programme to complement the Lagos State government’s health care delivery service to alleviate the problems of the citizens, especially the poor masses.
In addition, the club promised its continued assistance in other areas that would provide succour and enhance human capacity building, especially in the areas of literacy, eye screening and provision of eye glasses, campaign against polio, as well as micro credit financing among others, to put smiles on the faces of residents in its jurisdiction.
These remarks were contained in the address of the president of the club, while responding to a welcome address by Oba Idowu Abiodun Oniru of Iruland, delivered on his behalf by Mr. Ganiyu Idris, the Administrative Secretary at his Iru, Victoria Island palace, during a courtesy call on the traditional ruler. Rotn Orikaku alongside Rotn. Dr. Dende Soga, District 9110 Governor, Rotary International and his entourage were on a one-day working visit to the Victoria Island East Lagos Rotary Club.
Rotn. Oriaku assured that since the welfare of the residents was the ultimate of the club and the Rotary International at large, it therefore behoves on all concerned to effectively and constructively partner with the Rotary International District 9110, especially the Victoria Island East Rotary Club Lagos, in its giant strides to impact meaningful on the lives of all.
