Kabiru Towolawi, popularly known as KB, is the manager of Fire II Football Club of Bariga. He spoke withSUNDAY AKINTOYE about the club and their plans to shake Lagos State football.
Tell us about the club ?
The club was launched last year at Bariga. We started with 20 players but today we have up to 40 players.
Your club are yet to win a cup since last year?
That’s true, we have not won any laurel but we are in the semi final of Bilvic Soccer Fiesta.
When are you playing the semi final?
Our semi final match against Balance Gospel Ministry will hold today at the CMS Primary School, Bariga. It is a rescheduled match. We played 1-1 with our  opponents in the first semi final, while the penalty shootout also ended 5-5.
So, the organisers fix the rematch for today.
You must be under pressure now?
Honestly, I am under pressure because we are playing the match amidst a lot of things at stake. Our fans would be around but I have charged the players to go out for victory because we want to win the Cup.
After the Bilvic Cup, what’s next on your agenda?
We are preparing for Mamora Cup, which begins next month in Gbagada. I have bought two sets of Jerseys for the players and promised them financial incentives if they can win trophies during these competitions.
What are the plans for the club in the nearest future?
My plan is to take the club to a higher heights. We wan to take part in the next edition of Boska Cup, the Lagos FA Cup and other high profile competitions. Fire II will shock many clubs in some big competitions.
Why name your club Fire II?
I started as a football fan. My friends and I used to follow a team from Bariga  to tournaments and the players advised us to form a club.
We decided to form the club last year and name it Fire II FC, there is nothing to the name..
