Ikorodu Residents Task Police On Kidnapping

Publicity Secretary of Isiu Youth Development Movement, Mr. Sola Opeyemi, has  lamented police inability to arrest the increasing wave of kidnapping and  disappearance of innocent residents of Isiu community in Ikorodu, Lagos, Nigeria.

Speaking with journalists during a tour of the area, Opeyemi appealed to the state  Commissioner of Police, Mr. Marvel Akpoyibo, to come to the aid of the community by  arresting the hoodlums spreading terror in the community.

According to the Isiu youths spokesman, several residents have gone missing and  attempt to seek police intervention in their disappearance have always met a  brickwall.

He identified some missing residents as Mojeed, Isiaka and Owolabi, a JSS 3 student  of Isiu Grammar School. They are all sons of Chief Yekini Owolegbon, the Babaloja of  Isiu.

Opeyemi also called on the police boss to call some of his men, who engage in  discriminate arrest of residents, to order.

He disclosed that a notorious Chief Superintendent of Police attached to the  Inspector General of Police Monitoring Unit, Force CID ‘D’ Department, Area 11,  Abuja was fond of arresting Isiu residents and detaining them at the Dopemu Police  Station, Lagos.

gathered that one of the residents, Mr. Afuwape, a.k.a. Alado was recently  arrested by the CSP and detained at Dopemu Police Station where he was tortured.

The maltreatment, P.M.NEWS gathered, has already been reported to their lawyer, Mr.  Giwa Amu, to seek redress.
