Engr Rauf Aregbesola, Osun State Action Congress of Nigeria, governorship candidate,  has commended Governor Babatunde Fashola for his government’s achievements in the  last three years.

Aregbesola spoke on Tuesday at Alimosho Local Government, Lagos State, South West  Nigeria where Lagos State Deputy Governor, Princess Sarah Sosan empowered at least  700 women with assorted items to boost their businesses.

He stated that when the former governor, Bola Tinubu chose Fashola to vie for the  governorship in 2007, many people opposed it but that Fashola has come out to be a  performer who has excelled in several areas.

“We have seen that in every angle he points to, there is always progress.”

He called on Alimoso people to ensure that they turned out massively to register  during the forthcoming voter’s registration exercise, adding that he want a  situation where the council would be able to turn out one million people to  register.

He said out of the one million, he would at least secure 50 percent vote for the ACN  during the elections.

He said if Alimosho could produceone million voters, the ACN could capture the  entire nation.

Aregbesola, however, said the governorship race in Lagos was already settled as the  ACN would sweep the state again due to its performance.

On the Osun State governorship contest, Aregbesola said he hopes for victory as the  Appeal Court rules in the matter next month.

He said he hoped that his case would turn out to be like that ofEkiti, saying that  he would soon celebrate with the Alimoso people over the victory.

Meanwhile, Sosan stated that empowering the people was simply a way of extending the  dividends of democracy to the people, saying that more people would soon benefit  from the gesture as government would be moving from council to council to empower  the people.

Six chairmen of the council that made up the old Alimosho Local Government and ACN  leaders were present at the event while over 200 residents benefited from the  empowerment programme.
