Speaking shortly after swearing – in the Commissioners at the Government House in Kano, the state governor said the action was necessitated by the resignation of some members of the state executive council, who left to pursue political interests in the run up to next year’s election.

Governor Shekarau who thanked the cabinet members and Special advisers that resigned for their commitment and contribution toward the success of his administration urged them not to relent in accepting any invitation to serve the people whenever they are called upon.

Turning to the new appointees, the governor challenged them to justify the trust reposed in them by sustaining the diligence demonstrated by their predecessors in the overall interest of moving the state to greater heights.

He told the new commissioners that they are not only accountable to man but also to God and enjoined civil servants to cooperate with them so that the administration could consolidate the achievements recorded in the past seven years.
