Dele Adetona is the assistant coach of Tokas Queens Football Club of Agege. He spoke  about his coaching career with SUNDAY AKINTOYE

Tell us where you started your coaching career?
I started my coaching career in 1995, where I handled Abbey Football Club of Ibadan.  I relocated to Lagos in 1997 to handle Onipetesi High School female team, Agege.

At what point did you start coaching clubs?
I handled Olajuwon Queens Football Club of Abeokuta in 2001. I won the Ogun State FA  Cup before moving to Lagos, where I handled Tokas Queens of Agege. I gave a good  account of myself by leading them from Amateur II to the Professional League.

It seems that the football organisers don’t stage female football competitions at  the grassroots level, what is your take on this?
The problem is that  football organisers are not interested in female football at  the grassroots. It is really affecting me because it’s difficult to  scout for  players. We thank God for some organisers who are showing interest in female  football.

Is there any player you have discovered that is playing for the Super Falcons now?
Of course, I discovered Tochukwu Oluchi, the current second goalie for the senior  national team. I am happy that the player is doing well in camp ahead of the Africa  Women Championship,AWC, which holds in South Africa later this month.

Where do you see yourself in the nearest future?
I see myself handling the Flamingoes of Nigeria someday. I have handled female clubs  over the years and it is high time I serve my fatherland.
