Darey, Africa’s king of R&B is releasing two brand new singles from his forthcoming album, Showbiz Trends has gathered.
In a statement from Soul Muzik, Darey, who suspended the release of his US album following the death of his label’s chairman, Dick Griffey of SOLAR Records fame, has been busy working with his producer-collaborator, Cobhams Asuquo, on the new album, his third, planned for Nigerian and international release in a matter of months.
And now, with the full album nearing completion, the singer-songwriter says he’s ready and happy to bless fans with the first cuts off his yet-to-be-titled work.
The singles, Don’t Let Me Know and The Way You Are, will be released online early this week, with an official radio release scheduled for Monday, 25 October. They will also be available on Darey’s website, www.dareyonline.com and on iTunes.
Both songs were written by Darey and Cobhams Asuquo and recorded at Soul Muzik Studios (SMS) in Abuja, Nigeria.
His last album, Un.DAREY.ted, released in March 2009, received tremendous critical and commercial acclaim.
Propelled by major hits like Not The Girl and No Stars and others, un.DAREY.ted remains a fan-favourite across the continent, winning over a dozen local and international awards so far.
