New Appointments In Ekiti State

Gov. Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State.

Ekiti State Governor,  Dr. Kayode Fayemi, has approved some appointments in the administration.

In an announcement by the Head of Service of the state, Mr. Olufemi Adewumi,  Dr. (Alhaji) Ganiyu Owolabi, was named Secretary to the State Government (SSG); Mr. Yemi Adaramodu was appointed Chief of Staff; and Mr. Mojeed Jamiu, Senior Special Assistant, Media.

Ganiyu Owolabi- SSG
Alhaji Dr. Ganiyu Owolabi, a Veterinary Doctor was born 56 years ago. He hails from Ilupeju Ekiti in Oye Local Government Area of the State. He was the chairman of State Primary Education Board (SPEB) in the old Ondo State and chairman of State Universal Basic Education Board  (SUBEB) in Ekiti State. He was later the Commissioner for Agriculture in the Otunba Niyi Adebayo’s government in Ekiti State. He is married with children.

Yemi Adaramodu- Chief of Staff
Yemi Adaramodu was born 46 years ago in Ilawe-Ekiti in Southwest Local Government Area of Ekiti State. He is a veteran journalist who has traversed many departments in the media industry. He worked with Tribune newspapers for about 19 years. He was at various times a Deputy Editor, graphics editor and corporate affairs manager of the newspaper. Adaramodu is an accomplished cartoonist. He has won cartoonist of the year three times in the prestigious Media Merit Award. He was the Local Government Chairman of Ekiti South West Local Government in 1998. He is a fellow of the Institute of Local Government Administrators. Until his appointment as the Chief of Staff to Ekiti State Governor, he was the Director of Communications for the Kayode Fayemi Campaign Organisation. Yemi Adaramodu is married with children.

Mojeed Jamiu, 42 was born in Igbemo Ekiti, Irepodun Ifelodun Local Government Area of the state and attended Ola Oluwa Muslim Grammar School, Ado Ekiti, from where he proceeded to the University of Ilorin, where he obtained a Bachelors Degree in Agriculture (B Agric Hon 1990).  Jamiu has a Masters Degree in Public and International Affairs (MPIA) from University of Lagos in 2005.

He was, until this appointment, Editor, South, Leadership Newspapers.

The Media aide to the Governor started his Journalism carrier in 1992, with National Concord. He also worked as Assistant Editor, Business with The Punch Newspapers till 2003, from where he moved to Daily Independent Newspapers.

He left Daily Independent in June 2009 as Deputy Editor (Daily) and joined Leadership Newspapers, where he is currently on leave of absence.

Widely travelled, Jamiu is a beneficiary of the Prestigious International Visitors’ Programme (IVP) of The United States of America; member, Media Committee, Nigerian Economic Summit Group (NESG); Nigerian Union of Journalists and other organisations.

He has attended several seminars, both locally and internationally. He is married with children.
