An aspirant on the platform of the Social Democratic Mega Party, SDMP, in Ifako-Ijaiye Local Government Area of Lagos, Nigeria, Kola Babatunde, has promised to be loyal to the people of his constituency, if elected as a member of the House of Representatives next year.
Speaking at a conference in Ifako, Babatunde said the time has come when only credible and trustworthy candidates should be elected into key positions, irrespective of party affiliations. This, he said, will make the development of the people a reality.
He appealed to the electorate to move away from the “old school†and free themselves from the apron string of party godfathers.
He also advised the youths never to allow themselves to be used as tools for political distractions but to be peaceful and support only credible candidates.
“Social Democratic Mega Party is a party of the people whose door is widely open for the people of goodwill,†he stated.
