Governor's Cup Lagos Tennis: Encomiums! LOC Thanks Tinubu, Fashola For Support

Local Organising Committee, LOC, of the Governor’s Cup Lagos Tennis Championship is  full of praises to the former  governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu  and the incumbent Governor, Babatunde Raji Fashola for their support in staging the  tournament since inception.

Chairman of the LOC, Chief Pius Akinyelure, said: “We are eternally indebted to two  juggernauts for their unflinching encouragement, support and confidence in all our  endeavours. First, former Governor Tinubu in whose regime and on whose behalf this  championship started. And our sports loving  incumbent governor, Raji Fashola, for  having lifted the championship  to higher levels. We pray that God would continue to  guide, guard and uplift them in every possible way.”

Akinyelure also praised the major sponsors, Etisalat Nigeria and FCMB Plc., and  other co-sponsors for their support.

“Our traditional supporters like Julius Berger Nig. Plc., LASACO Nig. Plc., Lagos  Internal Revenue Service, LIRS, and particularly, our new, big, and generous  sposnors, First City Monument Bank Plc, FCMB, and Etisalat Nigeria which have signed  a five-year contract with us from 2009, deserve all the encomiums we can give them,”  he said.
