The National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS, has called on states and the Federal Government to revive tertiary education in the country which it claimed has been comatose for many years.
Addressing a press conference on Nigeria at 50 at the International Press Centre, Ogba, Lagos, Nigeria, NANS condemned the enormous resources wasted on the celebration of the country’s golden jubilee independence anniversary and said it could have been channeled into a better cause.
One of NANS’ spokespersons, Comrade Olusola Bayo, said the student body would have loved such money spent on the improvement of education.
Speaking in a similar tone, another NANS’ executive member, Comrade Danda Kazeem urged Nigerian leadears to make a better plan for the youths and children to secure a better future for them.
