The Fresh Democratic Party, FDP, held its national convention on Thursday in Lagos, Nigeria. It was attended by delegates from across the country.
Members of its national executive council as well as the party’s flag bearers in the 2011 general elections were elected.
Expectedly, Pastor Chris Okotie, FDP founder and chairman was elected the party’s standard bearer in next year’s presidential election.
Delivering a speech, Okotie promised a purposeful government that can salvage Nigeria from its oppressors.
Okotie blamed the problems confronting the nation on many years of military rule and corrupt leaders.
Also addressing the delegates, Mr. Gyang Pam, the National Vice Chairman in the North Central Zone said the FDP was formed based on the advancement of the nation’s core values, in a country that has a large youth population.
