A 58-year old driver, Stanley Agera, on Wednesday appeared before an Abuja Magistrate’s Court charged with criminal breach of trust and cheating.
The prosecutor, Simon Ibrahim, told the court that on October 3, one Regina Chukwuma of Lugbe town said she gave her Nissan car to Agera to use for commercial purpose.
“He was to be paying her N12, 000 every week. But for seven weeks, he had not given her any money.
“Out of the expected N84, 000, it was only through police intervention that N4, 000 was recovered,†Ibrahim said.
Agera pleaded not guilty. The trial Magistrate Idayat Akanni granted him bail in the sum of N50, 000 with one surety in the like sum.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Akanni later adjourned the case.
