Politician and member of the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, in Alimosho local government area of Lagos State, southwest, Nigeria, Omobaeko Akindele has bemoaned the sorry state of affairs in the country after 50 years of Independence.
He said the nation is far from meeting the aspirations of the people in spite of abundance of human and natural resources.
According to him, Nigeria is celebrating age, not achievements, and described  the last 50 years of nationhood as a mixture of boom and gloom.
“How can you celebrate a nation where people die of hunger, poverty and diseases? Nigeria of my dream is where there is equality, justice and fairness where will have people of courage seeing themselves as true Nigerians.
The politician said the country has no excuse for the abysmal decay in social infrastructure such as refineries, public school, health institution, railways and airlines.
He added that Nigeria has been brought to her knees by successive reckless leaderships that have tended to sire corruption, which in turn steals the people’s opportunities and their future.
