The Goodluck/Sambo Presidential Campaign Organisation has called for dispassionate  investigations of the October 1 bomb blasts which led to the death of 10 people and  injuries to over 30 other in Abuja.

In a press release issued this afternoon, the campaign group also said the investigations  into the brain behind the bomb blasts should not be politicised especially with the  interrogation of Chief Raymond Dokpesi, the Director General of Ibrahim Babangida  Campaign Organisation by the State Security Services.

The Goodluck/Sambo Campaign Organisation in the press release signed by Sully Abu, its  director of media and publicity noted that the IBB group is already politicising the bomb  blasts issue with its comments since the occurrence of the unfortunate event.

“Attempts are, of course, being made to politicise the issue following the arrest and  interrogation of the head of the Gen. Ibrahim Babangida Campaign Organisation, Chief  Raymond Dokpesi.

“This is coming fast on the heels of the rather tasteless comment made by that  organization which, rather than commiserate with Nigerians, particularly families of the  victims, claimed that their principal would be better placed to superintend national  security issues, a claim which flies in the face of the needless blood-letting during his  time as military President.

“The security services are perfectly entitled, in the course of their investigation, to  invite anyone, no matter how highly placed for questioning in order to unravel any  connection with the perpetrators of the bombing.

“No attempt must be made to obfuscate the investigation of a clear act of terrorism by  recourse to cheap, partisan politics.
The Campaign group however said draw up posers which must be unravelled by the security  agencies which it said will help reveal those behind the independence day bomb blasts.
