Kelly Ochuko, a University of Port Harcourt undergraduate, has emerged the new Miss Amuwo Odofin at the first-ever beauty pageant organised  by the Amuwo Odofin Local Government Area of Lagos State, South West Nigeria.
The colourful event, held on 18 September at Golden Tulip hotel, Mile 2, Lagos attracted a mammoth crowd.
Comrade Ayodele Adewale, the Chairman of the Council who spoke live via satellite, sent his love to all the contestants and guests present, thanking all the sponsors that made the event memorable.
“Beauty without brains is nothing but when combined together, it is better. Use your status to bring harmony to Amuwo Odofin and Nigeria at large,†Adewale advised.
The beauty queen became a proud owner of a KIA Picanto car with one year free subscription from Infinity Television, a digital satellite company.
Maryam Oderhowho, was the first runner up, while Patricia Egwede, emerged second runner up and Adaoma Cladon Emeregbam, Miss Amity; Adaeze Onwuka, Miss Creative as well as Clara Oluremi Adegunwa, Miss Photogenic. All were rewarded with consolation prizes.
