Kings United Coach, Solomon Adeshina, has admitted that the friendly match played against Shooting Stars Sports Club, 3SC of Ibadan exposed his team.
Kings United lost 0-3 to 3SC in a friendly tie watched by a large crowd at the Liberty Stadium, Ibadan, Oyo State.
Adeshina said he was not bothered about the outcome of the match, as his players gained more experience in the encounter.
“I am happy that my team played 3SC. Although we lost the match, I am happy that my players gave a good account of themselves. I must confess it was a good outing for us because the players gained more experience during the encounter,†he said.
The coach explained that they were defeated by 3SC due to inexperience, adding that they missed several chances which they could not covert to goals.
Captain of the team, Kennedy Ogana, blamed poor finishing as the main cause of their defeat, adding that they need to get good strikers if they want to perform well in future competitions.
“We had so many chances but we failed to convert a single one. We did not play badly, but we need to get at least two good strikers to fortify the team ahead of our future outings,†he said.
