The road to freedom or otherwise, for Bode George will commence on 25 October this year as a Court of Appeal sitting in Lagos this morning fixed 25 October, for the hearing of his appeal and other co-convicts.
The convicts’ team of lawyers led by Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Mr. Tunji Ayanlaja, filed the appeal.
When the matter was mentioned this morning, one of the lawyers, Mr. J. Daudu, urged the court to grant him adjournment to enable him file his brief of appeal and a file to the Court of Appeal.
Two other defence counsels, Mr. Bisi Adeluwagun and Oyeniyi Farounbi, drew the attention of the court to the ruling of the court delivered earlier this year that the appeal will be given accelerated hearing, therefore, the court should give them shortest possible date.
Consequently, the court while adjourning the mater till 25 October for the comcommencement of the hearing of the appeal, ordered all the counsel, including Festus Keyamo, to file all their briefs.
