The former Minority Leader of the Lagos State House of Assembly, under the Peoples  Democratic Party, PDP, who recently defected to the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, has  explained why he took the action.

Avoseh who planned to contest for a second term in office in April, 2011, sent goodwill  messages to all the youths in the state and all heterogeneous citizens of Nigeria.

He urged them to shun all forms of political and electoral violence and not to sell  themselves out cheaply to be used by mischievous and unscrupulous politicians in the  state. He urged all Nigerians to register en-masse when INEC begins to register voters  between 1-14 November, 2010 in all states of federation.

Avoseh who represents Badagry Constituency II, described the ACN administration in Lagos  State as a responsive government  that listens to the plight of the people and gives  urgent response.

He said, commissioned and on going projects in Badagry by the Fashola administration  include the Joseph Dosu Way, Market Road and Old Cemetery Road, which were commissioned  by the governor. He added that, “the 13-kilometre road to my constituency –  Ajara-Erekiti, Ikoga Road is still under construction” he added.  The commissioned  markets include Iron dealers market and auto dealers market at Age-Mowo both in Badagry,  while those expected to be approved are Oko-Afo, Ilogbo-Eremi, Pota and Iya-Afin roads.

He also  commended Fashola for the award of the expansion of the Lagos-Badagry Expressway  to seme-border, which will be transformed from its two to eight lanes and a light rail  project.

Expatiating on reasons behind his defection to ACN, Avoseh said, “I have watched with  keen interest, compared and contrasted what the ACN has done and is still doing in Lagos  and Edo States with the performance of governors in other states.

Definitely, we have a governor that has succeeded in accelerating the progress of the  state in just three years. It takes only sheer courage coupled with tenacity of purpose,  doggedness of will and ruggedness of patriotic spirit to face every challenge in the  state.”

He enjoined all Nigerians both at home and in the diaspora to vote for the ACN, the party  with pragmatic and innovative ideas that will impact positively on the lives of the  people, stressing that only a visionary party can bring out the best in this country.
