A former Director-General and Chief Executive Officer of Nigeria Maritime Safety and Administration (NIMASA), Dr. Shamsideen Ade Dosunmu (MON), has declared his intention to run for the governorship of Lagos State on the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
Making the declaration on Sunday at the state’s party headquarters, Dosunmu said his decision to run on the ticket of the PDP was based on the current misrule and agony of the people of the state were going through under the leadership of the Action Congress of Nigeria ACN-led government.
The aspirant, who said he had been a member of the party from inception, said it was time for Lagos State to realise its potential by choosing and electing into office, a person with the interest of the state and with the requisite knowledge to take the state to the next level.
Addressing the mammoth crowd that accompanied him to the state’s secretariat for the declaration and the leadership of the party in the state, Dosunmu said it was the sole right of the people of Lagos State to vote for change that would symbolise good governance and development, adding that he was not interested in the race to “provide credible change that the people of the state have been craving for.â€
He charged Lagosians not to be deceived by the “sweet talks†of politicians but to look at the pedigree and antecedents of aspirants and candidates to choose who would govern them effectively.
