First lady of Lagos State, Mrs. Abimbola Fashola says environment sanitation is the responsibility of everybody and not government alone.
Speaking at the monthly environmental sanitation exercise in Eti-Osa East Local Council Development Area on Saturday, Dr. Titi Anibaba, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of the Environment who represented Mrs. Fashola at the event, said: “I am appealing to religious leaders, Christians and Muslims, traditional rulers and market leaders to join hands with the local and state government in moving Lagos State forward.â€
The environmental sanitation train which began from Sangotedo area, the temporary headquarters of the Eti-Osa LCDA to Ajah bus stop to Ado road ended at Baale Street opposite Ado roundabout. The entourage included Dr. Titi Anibaba, Hon. Owolabi Yisa, Chairman of the LCDA, vice chairman, Hon. Rafiu Olufemi, Dr. Tokunbo Dabiri and a host of other dignitaries.
Hon. Yisa: “We are more than ever before ready to aggressively chase off environmental nuisance from our council and assist the Lagos State government in its untiring efforts at moving the state forward.â€
