There was a gas explosion at the Power Holding Company of Nigeria, PHCN, at Alagbado, Lagos on Saturday, which killed a PHCN contractor, identified as Ebuka.
P.M News gathered that the late Ebuka and his yet to be identified boss were working on a transformer when the explosion occurred. He died instantly while his boss was rushed to the hospital where he has been receiving treatment.
Eyewitness account said that a distress call was placed to the Lagos state Fire Services to assist to put off the fire but they came late and were rebuffed by sympathizers.
Contacted, PHCN public relations officer, Abule Ebga district, Mrs. Talabi-Akinyele confirmed the incident, explaining that much information could be obtained from her since the deceased was a contractor and not a PHCN staff.
