An Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, aspirant in Oshodi-Isolo Constituency 01, Southwest Nigeria, Mr. Felix Adewale Ajayi was recently the guest of members of his constituency during his Meet The People tour of the area to seek their votes into the Lagos State House of Assembly in the next general elections.
Going down memory lane, Ajayi revealed how, while still in far away United Kingdom, his people beckoned on him to come and join in the task of nation building and how he heeded the voice of his teeming admirers back home who believed that he had what it takes to move their constituency to the next level.
He told the gathering that his attempts were frustrated several times but because he believed that it was not yet time for him to be in the driving seat, he took the disappointment with equanimity, more so some political forces in operation then made sure that his efforts were thwarted.
“My dear fellow compatriot, those set backs should galvanize us this time around to compliment the efforts of Alhaji Farouk Oshodi so as to further enhance the living standard of our people,†Ajayi submitted.
He gave thumbs up to members of the Felix Adewale Ajayi Campaign Organisation Club, FAACO and promised to deliver the true dividends of democracy when eventually elected into the office in 2011, adding that the motivation to run is premised on a genuine interest to serve and bring positive change to his constituency.
“I promise to pursue the party manifesto of transforming our country, create wealth, jobs, conduct proper consultation with my constituency and be accountable as well as invest in education and provide scholarship for the younger generation and also provide a befitting library and most importantly recreational facility,†Ajayi however explained that his party was not carried away by the time table released by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, and urged the body to return to the drawing board to examine it adding that ACN is fully prepared for the general elections.
