The Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission, LASIEC, has conducted the councillorship bye-election in Ward A Oke-Olowogbowo, Lagos Island and in Ward B, Erikorodo area of Ikorodu, Lagos, for the two late Councillors.
The voting began at 8 a.m. and ended at 3 p.m. It was monitored by the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commissioner in charge of Lagos Island. Mr. Lekan Mabinuori. The election was peaceful.
The electoral officer, Mr. Abdullah Balogun, declared the scores as follows: In Olowogbowo Area of Lagos Island, Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN’s candidate, Mr. Haruna Saheed Babatunde scored 1019
United Nation People’s Party, UNPP, Tella Muis, 23 votes; National Action Council, NAC, Gbolagade Moriam (Mrs.) 19 votes; Congress for Progressive Change, CPC, Cole Oladipupo 17 votes; Peoples Progressive Party, PPP, Shitta Olayinkia, 2 votes; while Nigerian People’s Congress, NPC, Lawal Titlayo (Mrs.) scored 1 vote.
In Ward ‘B’ Erikorodo, Ikorodu, Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN’s Odudiran Muyiwa Gilber scored 1125 votes, Congress for Progressive Change, CPC, Miss Hassan Kafayat, 21 votes; Movement for Democracy and Justice, MDJ, 3 votes; National Action Council, NAC, Adeyemi Taiwo, 2 votes; Peoples Progressive Party, PPP, 2 votes.
