The Debaters Season 2 Begins

Riding on the crest of its successful debut last year, another round of gripping oratory  awaits viewers as the second edition of the highly educative reality show, The Debaters, hit  TV screens across the nation.

This year’s show, which promises to be more engaging, will start to air from 25 September  and promises an entertaining adventure with the very cerebral contestants.

The show’s 14 contestants, an equal mix of seven young men and ladies, emerged from grueling  auditions held countrywide and they were unveiled on Tuesday, 14 September, at the Civic  Centre in Lagos. The ‘talkmates’ are now settling into the ‘talk academy’ where they will be  housed and mentored over the 13-week duration of the reality show.

Mo Abudu, head of Inspire Africa, organisers of the weekly televised debates, says they  intend to groom the youthful contestants to drive Nigeria’s much-desired development.

“The Debaters will reiterate its message of oratory as the power to change and prove like  Barrack Obama has done so well that good things can come out Africa,” remarked Abudu.

The Debaters show has the GT Bank group as its main sponsor and the ultimate winner of the  contest goes home with a tasteful Toyota Rav4 car, N3.5 million cash and a VEDA laptop,  while the first and second runners-up get N1 million and N500,000
