No fewer than 50 top foreign and local artistes are expected to perform at the final burial of the mother of King of World beats, King Sunny Ade next week.
In a statement by Mr. Clement Ige, the Chairman of the organising committee of the event, the number of the artistes continues to increase every day.
“I can assure you that no less than 50 artistes have shown their readiness to attend the event with their full band members,†Ige said.
The artistes, he said, cut across all genre of music, from Gospel to Fuji, Juju, Highlife and Hip-hop. They will be led by the President of PMAN, Admiral Dele Abiodun. Others are Kollington Ayinla, Abass Akande Obesere, Saheed Osupa, Alabi Pasuma, Ayo Balogun, Timi Osukoya Telemi, Bola Are, Sola Allynson and Tope Alabi.
Coming from the hip-hop genre are D’banj, 9ice and Tony Tetuila among others
Ige also revealed that Kofi Olomide and a South African based act will complement the efforts of the Nigerian artistes at the event, while those in Nollywood are also jostling for roles in the event expected to commence on Monday 20 September in Lagos. An artistes’ night is scheduled for Ondo town on Wednesday 22 September, Wake Keep on Thursday and the final burial on Friday 24 September.
