The police at Owutu Division in Ikorodu Lagos West, Nigeria have killed one robber during gun battle and recovered a jeep.
P.M.NEWS gathered that 2 armed robbers trailed one Alhaja to her house in Agric area of Ikorodu and held her at gun point.
The robbers were alleged to have led the Alhaja into her compound where they also overpowered the security guard on duty.
According to P.M.NEWS source, the two suspects were spotted by an alert neighbour who alerted the police at Owutu.
When the DPO and his boys got to the scene, the suspect opened fire and the police returned the fire leading to the death of one of the suspects.
P.M.NEWS learnt that the robbers had successfully robbed their victims and locked them up in the toilet. As they attempted to drive off in a SUV, the police arrived and they abandoned their vehicle and took to their heels.
As the police gave chase, opened fire on the officers who returned, fire, during which one of the suspects was killed.
The other suspect escaped with gunshot injuries. When P.M.NEWS visited the station, the Divisional Police Officer was said to have gone on patrol.
