Lagos, Eti Osa Empower Residents

Residents of Ajah, Sangotedo, Ogombo and Okun Mopo area of Eti Osa LCDA on Wednesday trooped  out in large numbers to benefit from the dividends of democracy extended to them by the  Lagos State government through the Ministry of Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation in  collaboration with Eti-Osa East Local Council Development Area, LCDA, to register for free  skill acquisition programme.

The training would last for one month after which the beneficiaries would be empowered with  cash and working tools to start their own businesses to enable them become self-reliant and  useful to themselves and the society.

The registration of residents for the free programme would last for one week and lectures  have commenced, while the proper inauguration of the project would take place on Monday 19  September, 2010. The event was held at Sangotedo Primary School, Eti Osa, LCDA Ajah, Lagos,  South West, Nigeria.

The free acquisition training programme comprises tie and dye, balloon and flower  decoration, cake, soap and pomade production, hat making and crafts, bead stinging,  production of stove, thread, rat poison, insecticide and disinfectant.

Dignitaries present at the occasion includes Baale of Sangotedo, Chief Rafiu Lawal Ajakaiye,  Baale of Okera Nla, Chief Bashiru Kolawole lasisi, Baale of Otun Mopo, Chief Shakira  Adekunle Akinlade, Mrs. Sanni who represented the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Poverty  Alleviation, Mrs. Orelope Adefulire and Mrs. E.O Sarumi.
