Ikoyi Club 1938 Road A Disgrace

Motorists and commuters passing through Ikoyi Club 1938 Road, Ikoyi, in Obalende/Ikoyi Local  Government Area of Lagos State, South West Nigeria, have called on the state governor,  Babatunde Fashola and the council chairman, Adewale Adeniji, to rehabilitate the age long  road as it is fast becoming impassable.

Some of the motorists who spoke with P.M.NEWS said they are not happy with the way  government is allowing Ikoyi, which they described as abode for the elite to continue to  lose its glory through bad roads and deteriorating infrastructure and called for  rehabilitation of all decaying infrastructure, especially the roads, to serve as dividends  of democracy to the residents and motorists plying the area.

One of the residents, Mrs. Ronke Bamgbose, said that virtually all the roads in Ikoyi are  bad and are even worse each time it rained, noting, however, that although it is not easy to  satisfy everybody, Governor Fashola should extend his act of benevolence to Ikoyi in the  area of roads rehabilitation, especially around 1st and 2nd Avenues and Lugard Road.

Mr. Tunde Onasanya, a commercial vehicle driver, said the bad spot on Ikoyi Club 1938 road  has damaged his vehicle on several occasions, adding that it is only Governor Fashola that  can fix it and should do that without much delay.
