Politicians contesting in the 2010 general elections have been advised to do so in good  faith.

Pastor Jeremiah Bello of the Covenant City Prayer Ministries, Okeshina Street, Meiran in  Agbado-Oke Odo Local Council Development Area of Lagos State, who gave the advice in a  sermon, said that the country would experience a divine turn around if credible leaders were  elected to run its affairs, while urging Nigerians to pray for God to avert bloodshed in the  coming elections.

Pastor Bello, whose church is holding a three-day vigil that will end tomorrow at the  church’s auditorium, said he foresees Nigeria turning to a better country.

“I want to enjoin every devoted man of God in Nigeria to pray for a violence-free election  next year. Both Christians and Muslims should pray for peaceful polls in 2010. We must  submit ourselves to God, especially the politicians, who must not see the coming elections  as a do-or-die affair,” he said.
