Residents of Ayobo-Ipaja Local Council Development Area of Lagos State have queried the rationale behind the recent best local government award given to the council, among others.
Some of the residents who spoke with LG Circuit on phone and through short messages, decried the deplorable state of the roads in the council area, saying the chairman, Mr. Bisi Yusuf, does not deserve to be named the second best chairman in the state.
They listed some of the roads and areas that could best be described as death traps to include Gate bus stop, Baruwa, Abile Egun, Boys Town, Akinyele, Opeki, Oluwaga, Church, Fatokun, Baruwa inside, Fatade, Ike Anobi and Pako.
The residents questioned the criteria used by the organisers of the award, the Lagos Council of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), in making the award when so many bad roads in the council area are crying for attention.
