3 Docked For Abduction

Three suspects have been arraigned before the Ebute Meta Magistrate’s Court, Lagos, Nigeria  for allegedly abducting a 14-year-old girl (names withheld) in Lagos and forcefully marrying  her off to one of them who resides in Abeokuta.

The accused persons are Sunday Mesioye, 36; Biola Owolabi, 41 and Idiyat Somade, 45 who face  a three-count charge of conspiracy and abduction.

Police alleged that Biola Owolabi and Idiyat Somade conspired on 24 August, 2010 at 21,  Ayodele Street, Ebute Meta, to abduct the 14-year-old girl and marry her off Sunday Mesioye  in Abeokuta against the girl’s consent and without the approval of her guardian.
