The Lagos State chairman of the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, Otunba Henry Ajomale has recommended the arrest and the prosecution of the Ogun State House of Assembly G-9 members.

Speaking with P.M.NEWS, the Lagos State former Commissioner for Special Duties and Diplomat described the purported impeachment in the House on Monday as a ‘laughable matter’.

He described the incident as a situation where some people were trying to play pranks on our democracy, expressing that he had never seen where the minority sacked the majority.

Otunba Ajomale said their action was tantamount to creating anarchy and insecurity in the state, calling for the arrest of the nine of them for toying with the country’s democratic process.

Says the ACN boss: “They should be arrested immediately because they want to create anarchy in that state and when they arrest them, they will tell the nation who initiated the problem.

“The security agency should make sure that all those involved in creating the trouble are arrested and make them to face the music because their action can snowball to other states,” Ajomale suggested.

He expressed the fear that if the action of the G-9 is allowed to go like that, such kangaroo impeachment would extend to other states of the country, and it might lead to anarchy.

Nine lawmakers of Ogun State House of Assembly on Monday convened an illegal sitting early in the morning.

During their sitting, they impeached the Speaker, Hon. Tunji Egbetokun, suspended the other 14 members and approved the contentious N100 billion bond.
