Vitafoam Nigeria Plc, manufacturers of mattresses, says its products are faked.
Peter Folikwe, the company’s Sales and Marketing Director, raised the alarm at a news conference in Lagos, ahead of its forthcoming promo tagged Vitafoam Goodtime Record.
Folikwe said to check the trend, the company could be partnering with Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON), to clampdown on the adulterators.
He reiterated that adulteration of its products had become a major challenge to the company.
“This nefarious act is actually affecting the brand image, particularly in our environment.
“Literally, we are ensuring that we are not easily copied in terms of our products. We want to ensure that the finishing are different from the adulterated ones and externally, we brand our sales outlets to make them visible enough so that our customers will know where to buy our products,†he hinted, adding, however, that these efforts seem not to have checked the act, hence, the need to engage SON to nab the perpetrators.
