The law students of the National Open University of Nigeria, NOUN, Akoka Study Centre, Lagos State, Nigeria, is set for its maiden law week celebration which holds between 11 and 15 October, 2010.
According to the organisers, its planning committee members include Paul C. Chukaru, Governor, Nwakanma Anthony, Chairman, Planning committee, Kehinde Basiru, Secretary, Planning Committee, Emmanuel Nosa Ehihabor, Publicity Secretary among other law students of the institution, activities lined up for the event include lectures/opening ceremony, MOOT Court, cultural activities/football, visit to three different courts in the state, visit to NOUN Special Centre, Kirikiri and the FRSC and will be rounded up by a dinner/award.
The purpose of the law week, the organisers said, was to bring the law students together as it is done in other recognised universities that have law faculties, and afford them the opportunity to interact with the lecturers/facilitators, school authority and themselves.
They added that it will also expose the law students to the rudiments of the law profession as well as create awareness to the public and other higher institutions that do not know about NOUN and its course outline or curriculum.
