A 21-year old man, Fatoki Sunday Abiola, has been arraigned before the Ogudu Magistrate’s Court in Lagos, Nigeria, for being in possession of arm and other dangerous weapons.
The accused, who was arrested by the policemen at Pako area, Bariga, Lagos, Nigeria on 13 August, 2010 with two others who are now at large, was said to be in possession of locally-made pistol, machete and axe during the arrest.
According to the police, the offences are punishable under sections 516 and 428 of the Criminal Code, Cap. C. 17, Vol. II, Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2003.
He pleaded not guilty to the two-count charge and was granted bail in the sum of N50,000Â with two sureties in like sum.
The trial magistrate, Mrs. Ajefunwa ordered that the sureties must show evidence of tax payment to the Lagos State government and adjourned the case till 27 September, 2010 for trial.
