The first National convention of the Action Congress of Nigeria ACN, United States chapter, was recently held at Hotel Indigo, Durham, North Carolina to adopt membership of the party among others.
Delegates from New York, Maryland, North Carolina, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, Iowa and Washington DC in America as well as delegates from Ontario in Canada were in attendance.
Convention chairman, Hon. Harry Osawe reminded members of the agenda of the ACN, USA chapter and its commitment to the progress of the party back home in Nigeria.
Speaking on the state of the ACN in the US, its interim General Secretary, Hon. Solomon Oladunjoye Osidele informed members that the party was getting united, stronger and progressive  each passing day.
The keynote speaker, Dr. Olugbemiga Ekundayo spoke on the state of Nigeria, the preparation for its 50th year independence anniversary and why Nigerians in the diaspora should garner their energy and resources to achieve the type of change they envisage in Nigeria.
Similarly, Youth Empowerment leader, Hon. Christopher Ojo urged Africans at home and abroad to come together to harness their resources for development.
The following officers were elected to run the affairs of the AC N in the US. Dr. Olatunji Ojeranti (National Chairman), Isaac Udotong (Deputy National Chairman), Solomon Osidele  (General Secretary), Eric Idehan (Deputy General Secretary), Harry Osawe (Financial Secretary), Augustine Ojo (Treasurer), Babalola Olopade (Publicity Secretary), Mrs. Bunmi Fatoye (Majority Woman Leader) and Isiaka Akande, Organising Secretary.
