Chief Coach of Glory Youth Football Club of Yaba, Babatunde Shola, says his team can win the forthcoming Oba’s Cup.
Shola boasted that no club will stop his team from winning the title, saying that his players are in high spirits to face any team that confront them.
‘I will be disappointed if my team don’t win this year’s Oba’s Cup because the team have prepared enough. I don’t see any team that are better prepared than our team, so winning the Cup is my target,’ he said.
However, a date has not been fixed for this year’s Oba’s Cup. Although the organisers of the event say the competition will start after Ramadan, many coaches and club owners who spoke to GSG said they are not sure the competition will hold this year.
A member of the Lagos State Football Association, Alhaji Tajudeen Oladeji, has however urged the participating teams to remain calm, reiterating that the competition will commence after the Muslims fasting period.
