The police in Itire, Lagos State, South-West Nigeria have arrested Idris Tajudeen for alleged robbery.
The suspect, who resides at 16, Mafoluku Street, was alleged to have gone to numbers 5 and 8, Ogunaike Street with others now at large to rob residents.
Crime Watch learnt that while the robbery was going on, the police at Itire Division received a distress call from members of the public and the DPO of Itire police station quickly moblised his anti-robbery team to the scene.
On sighting the police, the robbers fled but Tajudeen was not so lucky as he was arrested.
Items recovered from the suspect as at the time of his arrest include one locally made pistol, one live cartridge, 15 assorted GSM handsets, one Dell laptop computer, one MP3 camera and N10,000 cash.
The suspect confessed that he is a member of a gang of armed robbers that have been terrorising the area for some time now.
