At the expiration of the deadline given to commercial motorcycle riders, the Lagos State government this morning clamped down on okada riders to enforce the restriction order.
Men of the Federal Road Safety Commission, FRSC, Kick Against Indiscipline, KAI, Lagos State Traffic Management Agency, LASTMA, and the police came out to enforce the restriction order.
In Ogba near Agege, policemen were seen checking okada riders to ensure compliance with government rules and regulations while in many parts of the Lagos metropolis, many riders stayed off the roads to evade arrest.
Consequently, many commuters in Iyana Ipaja, Dopemu, Ikeja-Allen roundabout were forced to board tricycle known as keke marwa as many of them were stranded at different bus stops.
