Agency Advises Women On 2011 Polls

Director, National Orientation Agency, Lagos State, Alhaji Nasirudeen A. Kaka, has said that women should play more prominent roles  in the 2011 elections.

Addressing women  at a conference  organised by the National Council of Women Societies, Lagos State branch, in Ajeromi Ifelodun Local Government, Ajegunle, Lagos State on Monday, Kaka urged them to be more active in politics.

He said women should contest for political offices like  governor, chairman of councils the Senate and state houses of assembly.

”Women should jostle for positions with their male folks by actively participating in the entire political process and not play  second fiddle,” he advised.

Heurged women to join any political party of their choice in order to have a platform to achieve their political desires.

The president of National Council of Women Society, Lagos State branch, Mrs. Sidikat Ayodele Disu, said women should talk senses into the heads of their children by not allowing them to be used as tools of destruction and rigging of elections  in 2011 .

“They should act as educators and mobilizers for their families, friends, neighbours and colleagues, encourage them to be active politically” she said.

Dignitaries present at the occasion include the chairman Ajeromi Ifelodun Local Government, Hon. Kamal Bayewu and  National Orientation Agency representative,John Emma.
