Tenant Threatens To Kill Landlord, Wife

A landlord, Adekunle Adebisi and wife Ronke had to relocate, abandoning their house at 1, Shola Oladele Street, Egan, Lagos, Nigeria after giving one of their tenants, Femi Majekodunmi, notice to move out of their house.

The landlord and his wife had to relocate to another place temporarily because of the threat to their lives by Femi who had expressed anger over the quit notice.

Femi was alleged to have threatened to kill the landlord and his wife for giving him notice  the house and the landlord fled to the police station at Igando to report the matter. He later  relocated.

At the station, P.M.NEWS gathered that Femi expressed his frustration in packing out of the house because of lack of finance and threatened that he will not go anywhere and was ready to die with anybody who wanted to quit the house.

The police thus charged him to Ejigbo magistrate court for threat to life. The offence he committed, according to police, was contrary to section 249 of the criminal code cap 38 chapter 24 laws of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2007.

He pleaded not guilty to the charge, the magistrate Mrs. S.O. Solebo granted him with the sum of N50,000 with one responsible surety.

The matter has been adjourned till 8 September, 2010 for hearing.
