A 43-year old man, Ifeanyi Okoye has been arrested and charged to Ejigbo Magistrate’s Court for fondling his neighbour’s wife, Ifechiagha Queen.
Ifeanyi was alleged to have grabbed Queen on the staircase of their house and forcefully put his hand into her private part one evening when there was a power outage.
The incident happened at their resident at 27, Ikeja Road, Egbe, Lagos, Nigeria, where both families occupy different flats.
P.M.NEWS gathered that the husband of Rose is a business man who usually travels out of Lagos on business. sometime after they moved into the apartment, Ifeanyi, who is also married with children, started to woo her.
But the woman reportedly refused, but Ifeanyi refused and had kept disturbing the woman.
On the day of the incident, he reportedly held the woman on the staircase and allegedly started touching her breasts and putting his hand in her private part.
While trying to free herself from his grasp, the man tore her bra, blouse and underwear and she screamed, which attracted neighbours before she went to the Ikotun Police Station to report the matter.
He was arrested and charged to court on a three-count charge of assault and attempted rape, an offence said to be contrary to section 360, 359 and 355 of the criminal code cap 17 vol. 2 laws of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2006.
He pleaded not guilty to the charge and the magistrate, Mrs. S.O Solebo, granted him bail in the sum of N100,000 with two responsible sureties.
The matter has been adjourned till 29 September, 2010 for hearing.
