The much touted 2011 presidential ambition of President Goodluck Jonathan received a major boost recently with an influential Enugu-based transporter, Chief Ben Iloka, throwing his weight behind him, urging the President to show interest in the job.

Although the President is yet to openly show interest in the 2011 presidential race, there are strong indications that the Bayelsa State-born politician would likely throw his hat into the ring to slug it out with the other contenders to the highest political office in the country.

Chief Iloka who is the Chief Executive Officer of Iloka Motors Nigeria Limited, maintained that President Jonathan has all it takes to restructure Nigeria’s economy and bring about the much needed political stability and peace as he has shown within the short period of his presidency.

According to the influential politician who hails from Enugu Akwu Achi in Oji River Local Government Area of Enugu State, “President Jonathan has clearly shown, since he mounted the saddle leadership early this year, that he is a statesman and leader that can be trusted by his people with the way he has been handling the affairs of the country. In fact, he has returned Nigeria on the path of economic prosperity with his policies.”

Chief Iloka noted that the collective interest of the people of Nigeria would be better served under the Goodluck Jonathan presidency because he has proved to be a detribalised Nigerian whose vision on the oneness and economic survival of the country is clear and pervading.

“I am sure that if Mr. President heeds to the yearnings of Nigerians and declares interest in the 2011 presidential election, he would definitely have the support of every Nigerian. He has proved that he is capable of leading the country out of the woods to a new land of economic prosperity and political stability,” the influential politician stressed.
